We specialise in providing advanced time-frequency-based analysis methods for medical signal analysis, monitoring and prediction. Our methods, which include novel artefact removal and signal feature recognition systems, lead to the increased robustness and overall utilisation of medical devices. Our novel techniques for the analysis of the photoplethysmogram (pulse oximeter waveform) include new methods of oxygen saturation determination, artefact reduction and respiration identification. Our work concerning the nature of arrhythmic cardiac waveforms in the ECG by ourselves and international collaborators has led to new insights into the underlying structure of ventricular fibrillation (VF) and atrial fibrillation (AF). We also have experience in the analysis of neonatal phonocardiographic waveforms and blood pressure monitoring.
